Q: Are these diamonds from your regular stock?
A: All diamonds are from our stock. Some of these diamonds have been traded in or are from individuals who have brought them to us to sell on consignment for immediate liquidity. Others are substantially reduced in price because they are duplicated in our inventory, and we prefer to sell them to our valued customers instead of auctioning them off within the trade.
Q: Why can't I actually checkout online?
A: We've created this website for this special event, and commerce is not enabled. This was the most expedient way to present our vast selection of diamonds in the sale. Please call, email, or best of all, come in to our store to see the actual diamonds and make your purchase.
Q: Is financing available? How do I apply?
A: 0% financing for six months is available to qualified buyers, provided through Synchrony Financial. The necessary application is in our store and approval is usually obtained in less than one hour.
Q: I live out of town. How can I take advantage of this sale?
A: If we have your phone number and time you are available, one of our GIA Certified Gemologists will call to discuss any of the diamonds you see on this website.
Q: Who has graded these diamonds?
A: The vast majority of diamonds in our sale are accompanied by GIA certificates. In a few cases, primarily for smaller sized diamonds, we have graded them ourselves. Both Bob and Jay Mednikow are experienced graders with Graduate Gemologist degrees from the GIA and are recognized as Certified Gemologists by the American Gem Society. Diamonds without certificates are accurately graded, and we will gladly submit any diamond to the GIA at no additional charge if the buyer doesn't mind waiting a couple of weeks.
Q: Do you offer layaway?
A: Yes. Up to 60 days with 50% down payment. Terms of layaways can be discussed at the time of purchase.
Q: I already own a Mednikow diamond. May I trade it in during this promotion?
A: Mednikow guarantees the full value of your Mednikow diamond when trading in against any regularly priced merchandise in our stores. But we cannot guarantee the trade-in value against these substantially discounted diamonds.
Q: How will the Mednikow Trade-In Program relate to the purchase of one of these diamonds?
A: Any diamond purchased now can be traded in the future for any more expensive merchandise in our stores for the original purchase price.
Q: What if I find a comparable diamond for less online?
A: We don’t think you will, but if think you have, please share the information with us. We can often explain why something that seems like a better deal at first is not really a good value. And if you prefer to purchase what you've found online, we will usually be able to obtain that same diamond for you at the same price, so you can still buy it from us.
Q: Why is it important to come into the store to see a diamond in person?
A: Diamonds are products of nature, and each one is different, with its own characteristics. Only a trained gemologist can properly explain the differences and you owe it to yourself to investigate before you buy. Pictures of diamonds are static representations, but a diamond is meant to capture the light around it and bend that light, separate it into colors, and the appearance changes moment by moment as the light source, the wearer, or the diamond moves. You will not fall in love with a diamond in a picture, but you absolutely will in person.
